Care Instructions

Remember, the POD Tritek Swim Goggles lenses are made of PC (polycarbonate), a durable material that can easily scratch if not handled with care. To keep them in top condition, avoid rubbing the lenses with your fingers or after use in saltwater.

Wash goggles in fresh water and let dry in the shade after every use.

  • Do not leave in the sun.
  • Do not leave in the car or boot on hot summer days; excessive heat may cause damage to your swimming goggles.

To remove any chlorine, salt, or oil build up on your goggle lenses, it is best to use lukewarm water with a few drops of mild dish-washing detergent. Gently agitate the goggles in the solution, rinse them in fresh water and hang them out in the sun to dry.out of the sun to dry.

Selecting the Correct Swim Goggles

A suitable method to determine whether a goggle suits your facial structure is to try "The Suction Test."

Place a pair of goggles against your child's eye sockets without putting the headband in place. Push gently with your thumbs in the middle front section of the lens. This model will be suitable if the goggles stay in place for a few seconds without falling off.

Choosing the right model is crucial, as an ill-fitting goggle can lead to discomfort, leaks, and even eye injuries during swimming. Keep in mind that not every model will fit every facial structure.

The comfort and sensitivity of a goggle seal will vary significantly between different materials, such as Foam, PVC, TPR, Silicone, or Liquid Silicone.

Adjusting Your Goggles

POD Swim goggles come with various shaped nose pieces depending on the model.

  • One-piece construction, where there is no adjustment.
  • A one-piece flex construction with a flexible material frame allows the nose piece area to stretch slightly.

Headband Adjustment

A goggle headband is designed to keep the goggles in place whilst swimming and should be adjusted to a comfortable length. A tight fit is not necessarily the right fit.

If you need to over-tighten the headband, this indicates that the goggles are not suitable for your face.

The tighter you wear a headband, the higher the possibility of snapping the headband strap.

POD has many different styles of headbands and other methods of securing them so they won't slip while swimming.

Again, familiarising yourself with the style of headband associated with the selected swim goggles will ensure that any adjustments are easily achieved

Attention

As with anything worn close to the eyes, all care should be taken to prevent eye injuries, mainly when used by children who may not pay attention when wearing goggles.

Remember, children should always be supervised when swimming and wearing goggles. Your watchful eye is their safety net. Swim goggles may cause skin irritation for some users and should not be worn by people with known susceptibility to dermatitis.

Consequently, discontinue use immediately if any irritation or inflammation occurs.
